If you're not a Christian - or you're not sure you're a Christian - and you're wondering what it's all about, please keep reading. In its most basic form, the Bible is a compelling love story. In the beginning, God created the earth and everything that is in it, including man. But the world chose to follow temptation and turned its back on God. Not willing to see us spend eternity in hell, God devised a plan to save man from this unthinkable fate. Even before He knew we would accept His offer, God's Son Jesus agreed to come to earth, live without a single sin, then pay the ultimate sacrifice for all people by laying down His life. It was (and still is) the perfect symbol of truly unconditional love. Jesus suffered a brutal beating followed by crucifixion on a cross. He died, went to hell for three days, defeated satan and was brought back to life by God. An almost unbelievable story, isn't it? It might seem hard to comprehend. Our lives are proof that there is a God who loves us so much that He gave His one and only son so - if we believe in Him - we will not go to hell, but will live in Glory forever with God [John 3:16]. Why do we believe in God and not evolution or the big bang? To us, believing in evolution takes more faith than believing God. Science is based on being able to predictably repeat a course of action with the same results. The supposed big bang was a one-time occurrence that never happened again. In addition, it would have been the only explosion that ever created anything. Every other explosion in the history of the world destroyed, it didn't create. According to Genesis chapter 1, God created the heavens and the earth with a deliberate, intelligent design. Jesus tells us in His word that He is the way, the truth and the life. No man comes unto the Father, but by the Son [John 14:6]. Are you going to heaven? Just believing there is a God will not save you. Even satan believes in God. Going to church will not gain you entrance into heaven because the Bible says we are saved by the grace of God and not by anything we do. The only way to know for a fact you are going to live with God in heaven once you die is to "confess with your mouth that 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, and you will be saved" [Romans 10:19]. Just say this simple prayer: Jesus, I believe You are the one, true Son of God and that You died for my sins. I know God raised You from the dead on the third day and that You defeated both death and hell. I accept Your sacrifice and I want You to be the Savior of my life so I can live eternally with God in heaven.
